They show Thor (Greek God) in another planet with his girlfriend in the film hence it called Thor "love" and thunder. He has his new hammer "Storm Breaker" whilst his girlfriend has his old hammer "mjolnir" which broke and makes the film poster interesting because the audience wants to see how they fixed it.
In the poster Thor and his girlfriend are wearing futuristic armour with 2 hammers which suggests that this could be a fantasy/sci-fi film. There is a lot of High-Key Lighting all around the poster. Thor is holding a weapon which makes the consumer connote that there is action in the film. Thor is holding his newly weapon "Storm Breaker" and his girlfriend is holding "mjolnir" which is his old weapon and that makes the consumer think how has his girlfriend have his old weapon which encourages them to watch the film. There is a Flying unicorn with a woman sitting on it with a weapon which connotes that this film in fantasy with a lot of action in it. Lastly, There is a person laughing in the background with orange eyes and a weirdly shaped face which suggests he is the villain.
